Roshan Mustaqbil Welfare Society: Mega Plantation Drive – March 2026
Introduction:
A Greener Vision for Greener Jhang
In an era where environmental degradation, deforestation, and climate change are becoming increasingly alarming, taking meaningful action has become more important than ever. Rising temperatures, poor air quality, and shrinking green spaces are clear indicators that urgent steps are required to restore ecological balance. Recognizing this responsibility, Roshan Mustaqbil Welfare Society took a significant and impactful initiative by organizing a Mega Plantation Drive in March 2026.
This campaign was not just a routine activity but a well-planned environmental effort aimed at increasing green cover, improving air quality, and promoting awareness among the local population. The initiative reflects the society’s long-term vision of building a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for present and future generations.
Collaboration with Forest Department and Nurseries
A project of this scale requires careful planning, technical expertise, and access to quality resources. To ensure success, the society collaborated with reputable nursery farms to procure strong and healthy saplings suitable for the local climate and soil conditions.
A major contribution came from the Forest Department, whose professional support played a crucial role in the execution of the drive. Their experienced officers provided valuable technical guidance regarding plant selection, proper plantation techniques, and long-term maintenance strategies.
We are especially thankful to Sir Shahid Hameed Sahib, Forest Officer, and his dedicated team. Their cooperation, guidance, and official provision of plants significantly strengthened the campaign. While the society ensured proper payment for the saplings according to official procedures, the advisory and logistical support extended by the department reflected their commitment to public welfare and environmental sustainability.
Target Areas: Schools, Hospitals, and Public Spaces
The plantation drive was strategically designed to maximize community benefit. Instead of random planting, specific locations were selected where trees would serve practical purposes such as providing shade, improving air quality, and enhancing the surroundings.
Educational Institutions
Schools and Madrasahs were among the primary targets of this campaign. Planting trees in these institutions not only improves the environment but also instills environmental awareness among students. Young minds learn the importance of nature and develop a sense of responsibility towards protecting it.
Healthcare Facilities
Hospitals were also prioritized to create a peaceful and healing atmosphere for patients and visitors. Green surroundings are known to have a positive psychological impact, contributing to quicker recovery and improved well-being.
Public Administration Offices:
Union Council offices and other public spaces were included to promote the concept of green governance. These areas serve as examples for the community, encouraging others to adopt environmentally friendly practices.
The plantation drive covered Chak No. 455, 458, 459, and 460. These rural areas benefited greatly from this initiative, as the increased greenery will contribute to a healthier and more pleasant living environment.
Execution and Team Effort
The successful implementation of this plantation drive was made possible through strong leadership, effective teamwork, and dedication at every level. The society ensured that the activity was not limited to planting trees but also included proper planning for their growth and survival.
Our Chief Executive, Ch. M. Akmal Ali, played a leading role by personally supervising the field operations. His presence in the field motivated the team and ensured that all activities were carried out efficiently and according to plan.
The core team included:
President: M. Iqbal – supervised overall arrangements and coordination
General Secretary:- Wajid Ali Shah – managed administrative matters and coordination with the Forest Department
Executive Member: Hafiz M. Asif Shahzad – actively participated in fieldwork and plant distribution
Finance Secretary: Haji Feroz Khan – ensured transparency and proper management of financial resources
Together, this dedicated team successfully planted 1,000 saplings, ensuring that each plant was properly placed and supported for healthy growth.
Sustainability and Future Vision
The mission of Roshan Mustaqbil Welfare Society goes beyond planting trees—it is about nurturing them into strong, long-lasting assets for the community. Understanding that plantation is only the first step, the society has developed a follow-up strategy to ensure proper care and maintenance.
All institutions where plants were distributed have been requested to take responsibility for watering, protecting, and monitoring the saplings. Community involvement is being encouraged so that people feel ownership of this initiative.
In the future, the society plans to expand such environmental campaigns, increase plantation targets, and introduce awareness programs about climate change and sustainability. The goal is to transform the region into a model of environmental responsibility and green development.
Conclusion
The Mega Plantation Drive of March 2026 stands as a testament to what can be achieved through dedication, collaboration, and a clear vision. Roshan Mustaqbil Welfare Society remains committed to serving the community not only through social welfare but also by protecting and improving the environment.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all supporters, volunteers, and especially the Forest Department for their invaluable cooperation. Together, we can ensure a greener, healthier, and brighter future for our region.
